Pricing and Booking Questions
What we charge, and when. A short note before the questions: nothing on this page carries a hidden condition.
Call (07) 3067 4119How is a plumbing job priced?
You get a fixed quote before any work starts, and the price you approve is the price you pay, whether the job is a tap washer or a full drain rebuild.
How can I pay when the job is finished?
You can settle up on the spot by card or EFTPOS the moment the job is done, so no invoice follows you home and nothing is left owing.
How soon can a plumber get to me?
Same-day where we can, so ringing early gives us the best shot at a plumber reaching you before the day closes, with urgent jobs always triaged first.
Do you work for renters or only for owners?
Both, and because Windsor is mostly rental at the last census we deal with tenants, landlords and property managers every week, with quotes sent for approval off site when the owner is away.
Service Questions
What we do day to day. The short version: if water or gas runs through it, it is probably on our list.
Call (07) 3067 4119What plumbing work do you actually do?
Taps, toilets, bathrooms, kitchens, leak detection, gas fitting, blocked drains, blocked sewer and stormwater, CCTV drain inspections, plus hot water repairs and replacements, all carried out here under one licence.
Can you work on gas pipes and appliances?
Yes, since our licence spans gasfitting, plumbing and drainage, jobs from installing a new bayonet to swapping a cooktop or converting a hot water unit all fall within scope.
Can you replace a hot water system?
We repair tanks where it pays to repair them and replace them when it does not, sizing the new unit to your household and your roof or cupboard space before anything comes out.
Can you find a leak hidden in walls or floors?
Yes, we trace damp patches, climbing water bills and unexplained use back to their source, then quote the repair with the least opening up of walls or floors we can manage.
Emergency Questions
When to call right now. If water is moving or you can smell gas, act first and read the rest later.
Call (07) 3067 4119What counts as a plumbing emergency?
Water you cannot stop, an overflowing toilet, a gas smell or a burst pipe all count as urgent, while a dripping tap or a slow drain can usually wait for a booked visit.
What should I do if I smell gas indoors?
Leave the property and call from outside without flicking switches or lighting flames, and we will make the situation safe before any repair work on the leak begins at the meter or appliance.
A pipe has burst. What do I do first?
Turn the water off at the meter first, then call (07) 3067 4119, because shutting the supply stops the damage spreading through your house while a plumber is on the way.
Is no hot water an emergency?
It is urgent but rarely dangerous, since a burnt-out element or a tired valve usually means a repair visit, and the cool June to August mornings are when most failures get noticed.
Windsor Conditions Questions
What the suburb itself does to plumbing. Old pipe, hill slopes and creek flats shape most of the answers here.
Call (07) 3067 4119Why does our old house have weak water flow?
Unrenovated timber houses on the Eildon Hill slopes often still run galvanised supply pipe, and the scale that builds inside it over decades chokes the flow down to a trickle.
Do the creek flats flood into the drains?
They can, because streets near Enoggera and Breakfast creeks carry a long flood record, and when the creek backs up the stormwater outlets and yard gullies on the low ground cannot clear.
Who owns which pipes around my property?
Urban Utilities looks after the street mains and the sewer under the road, and everything on the property side of the connection belongs to you or your body corporate to maintain.
How do I book a plumber in Windsor?
Ring (07) 3067 4119, describe the problem and your spot in Windsor, and we will book a time and send a licensed plumber carrying the full quote before work starts.
